ABOUT the Author:
ALBERT S. OKORO, born in 1932, is an oral historian from Omoku, Ogbaland, in Rivers State, Nigerian. A graduate of Enitonia High School, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Okoro studied Maritime Management in the Netherlands in the 1970s. For several years he served as the Superintendent for the Nigerian Ports Authority, Port Harcourt and commissioned the opening of the Federal Ocean Terminal in Onne, Nigeria in 1982. He currently lives in the United States of America.
